SMALL ETERNAL TOWN OF Osor

At the place where the islands of Cres and Lošinj merge, or separate, on the isthmus between Cres and Lošinj, since ancient times there has been a little town Osor. The oldest traces of life from the late Stone Age have been found in caves near Osor. The first fortified settlement was founded by Illyrians. Across the Isthmus of Cres, a natural protection from storms, passed the historical transit line from the Aegean to the Baltic Sea, known as the Amber route. Many decorations of amber are located in the Illyrian graves near Osor.
Later it was an ancient fortress. In the age of old Croatian state it became a center of culture and Glagoliticism. When it came under Venetian rule, it began to lose its importance.
Today we can say that the whole city of Osor is actually an open-air museum where you should not miss the main attractions:
